Rising from the Thar like a mirage, Jaisalmer Fort was built by Rawal Jaisal in 1156 and is one of the few living forts in the world, with families still residing inside its walls. Wander its lanes and havelis, then head into the dunes for camel rides, Rajasthani folk music and a night in a desert camp.
